It’s a short story really… My name is Sarah and, it turns out I’m really a granola girl at heart. I don’t really know where it came from. Maybe it’s my California roots, or, the fact my parents did a good job raising my brother and I on home-cooked goodness, with little to no sugar. So, it seems we turned out pretty level headed (which is a completely biased statement!). And, with that, I’ve always leaned toward wholesome, more-ish delights that are nourishing and delicious at the same time. To me, this is all things YUM.
Sometime last year, I was inspired to come up with a granola (muesli) that I loved, because I couldn’t find one on the market that moved me. I love being moved by food! Especially when it is good for my body. I am also one of those people who get real bad tummy aches from most things wheat/gluten, so thought I’d come up with a granola that had only the good stuff, to fuel my brain and body, minus tummy pains, which meant no grains.I also won’t deny that recipes are created in my brain often (read: all.the.time). This is something I have accepted about myself in a loving way, usually because it benefits me and those around me in delicious ways. Thus, YUM was born. And, every YUM ingredient is a nutrient heavy hitter, contributing both flavour and nutrient dense goodness. And, I’ll be honest- I love the stuff too. I may even be addicted. So, I decided to share it with the world, with the intention I could help make some people a little happier if they included some YUM in their life. I hope you like it as much as I do. Enjoy!
