At Yum, we believe good food is about more than what ends up in your bowl. It’s about the ingredients we choose, the packaging we use, and how we care for what’s left over. Our sustainability story isn’t about being perfect. It’s about paying attention and finding better ways to do everyday things.

It starts with our ingredients. Where our food comes from matters to us, alongside how it tastes. Thoughtful sourcing is part of the bigger picture: making food we’re proud to share, with care for the people and places behind it. This is why we know where and who is behind our ingredients.

That care extends to our packaging. Choosing plastic-free packaging is one way we’re rethinking what comes with your food. Because we want the focus to be on the goodness inside, without unnecessary plastic on the outside. And because we believe food we eat shouldn't be packaged in petrochemical plastic. With that we have been 95% free of plastics for 8 years now, saving over 30T of plastic from going to the landfills and oceans.

We’re also working to waste less. Ingredients, packaging and the everyday running of our business all offer opportunities to be more resourceful. For us, reducing waste means noticing what could be done differently, then making those small improvements part of how we work.

And then there’s our local Honesty Box. A simple idea rooted in trust and connection, it brings a personal, local touch to the Yum experience. It’s a reminder that a better way of doing business can be about community as much as it is about food. We love seeing our locals bring their own containers for the freshest batch, sans packaging!
