Making a Few Hundred Granola Bowls for the Cable Bay Enduro and Nat'l Championships
Last weekend Yum Chef and Founder, Sarah, made a a few hundred granola bowls to support the incredible Cable Bay Enduro National Mountain Bike Championships. It was an incredible way to support one of our favorite communities-- that of mountain bikes! An activity that brings both Sarah & Mike (and now Rai), a lot of joy!
It was a special event, bringing together young pinners (there were over 80 kids racing!), pro veterans, and everyone in between. Happy people riding bikes in beautiful native New Zealand bush is a beautiful thing!
The event was in its third year and is made possible by locals Jess Harvey and Loui Harvey, as well as all the amazing volunteers who not only helped to make the event happen, but who also maintain the ever-growing network of trails at Cable Bay Adventure Park. They get together every Tuesday night, rain or shine, for train building and maintenance, followed by a potluck dinner. This is community and why we love supporting them.
The epic granola bowls were made up of our Oatmeal Raisin Granola, Vanilla Bean Coconut Yoghurt (Raglan Coconut yoghurt donated), Otis oat milk, and a freshly made apple berry compote using organic, local apples (Little Shaggery Farm). They were beyond delicious and the racers, kids, and volunteers loved them!
Luck would have it that the legend @svenmartinphoto was in town to capture beautiful images we won't soon forget (thanks for sharing them Sven)!
This is what community looks like😊
